Who: Friendly group of mature ladies
Teachers: various class members
Format: lecture / discussion
Curriculum: International Sunday School lesson
Projects: Christian Aid Clothing Bank, MCEAP, various needs of the community, special offering for missions taken each month

Koinonia
Where: Room 102 - Resource Room
Who: Christian women, both with and without children
What: Christian women supporting one another through Bible study, fellowship, discussion, and prayer!!!

Format: Discussion
Curriculum: often Beth Moore studies
Projects: Women's Resource Center, Clothing Bank, Mary Kay Horton (missionary), support for underprivileged children via elementary guidance counselors, special assistance to the needy

Open Door

Who: Middle adults, singles, and couples, both with and without children
What: Fellowship of supportive Christians which encourages personal and spiritual growth through studying, praying, sharing, and contributing our time, talents, and financial gifts to our church and community.

Format: Discussion
Curriculum: Cokesbury studies, video series, topical lessons
Projects: Supports projects of the church

Other Activities

  • Vacation Bible School, a week of summer evenings filled with enrichment for children ages pre-K through 5th grade
  • Bible Adventure, a one-day class for uppper elementary children to help them use the Bibles given to them by the church
  • Training events sponsored by the Roanoke District and the Virginia Conference of the UMC
  • Confirmation classes, held periodically for youth to prepare them to become professing members of the church
